Weekend Recap (Link-UP)

Weekends for me are such blissful moments I always look forward to; may they be adventure-filled or simple two days off from work. Lately, because of school, weekends are supposed to be two straight days of accomplishing serious school work and other school-related stuff. But I guess anyone who'd be in my shoes would die of boredom so I just had to squeeze in a different activity on Sunday (every Sunday, I hope).

I have spent most of my Sundays, since July 2010, in Mukha-Ad. I have talked about this Youth Formation organization here in this blog several times (you can read them here, here, here and here). Three weeks from now, a new formation year is about to commence. In order to continue the tradition of forming the youth in the likeness of Christ, we have started planning for the Grand Opening on July 15th. Aside from the program preparations, we also have started recruiting new participants who will hopefully make up Batch 23.

We handed out invites outside the church after the end of every mass starting at 6 in the morning. We also gave away lollipops to those who willingly signed up their names and contact numbers on our registration form. Below is a picture of the registration "booth" that was beautifully designed to attract young parishioners. Both lay members and Dominican student brothers worked hand in hand to invite young people into this organization that would surely change their lives if they successfully graduate in due time.

There were some people who completely ignored us, as expected. But there was also a good number of enthusiastic teens and young professionals who enthusiastically heed our call to at least get to know the organization a little more. At the end of the day, we were able to gather a hundred or so participants-to-be. That was quite an accomplishment for our first day. :D

Here is a picture of myself with HRMD (Human Resource Management and Development, my elective this sem) book in hand, desperately trying to read while listening to and chatting with friends.
Saturday was spent entirely at home - slept almost half of the day, finished my laundry, did my HRMD Group Case 1 while watching TV and being inspired by Giulianna Rancic.

I guess, overall, I had a productive weekend :) How about you? Feel Free to link up and let us know what were you busy with the past two days. ^^
