8.9.10 Happy Birthday Mother Mary!
Today is the nativity of the mother of Jesus… and our mother too. Today, we remember that her very existence led to the fulfillment of Jesus’ mission - to save the whole of humanity. I hear some people blame a woman (Eve) for having committed the original sin; but it is also through a woman (Mary) that we have been saved from the slavery of sin. To this day, she continues to pray with us… for our dreams to come true, for protection during calamities and turmoil, for miracles to happen. We venerate the Blessed Mother for her exemplary values; her purity and obedience. She was conceived without sin and never committed a sin in her lifetime, thus, she was brought up to heaven, body and soul. She didn’t doubt the Lord’s plan and willingly obeyed His will. He carried Jesus in her womb, loved Him even with the knowledge that one day she would have to give Him up, see Him suffer on the cross to die for us.
